Formed by Zoe Burke (Sapphogeist), Jason Crumer, Joseph Hammer (LAFMS), AF Jones, Wyatt Howland (Skin Graft), Rose Rae (Apologist), and others, experimental country project Buck Young resist the genre’s geographical origins even as they seek to capture a nebulous and distant America.

They work with perceived histories of traditional music, pushed through a turbine of cartoonish yet abysmal melancholy, the musicians involved incorporating their time served in noise and experimental projects into an oddly familiar new context."

Buck Young is my experimental country music project. We have been active since 2017, releasing two albums on vinyl, CD and digital through Philadelphia's established stalwart of challenging music publishing, No Rent Records. "Proud Trash Sound" was released in 2018 and and "Buck II- Where Do You Want It?" came out in 2019 to critical acclaim from several noteworthy cultural arbiters of bizarre sonic taste.

More than a band, Buck Young is a pan-American collective of experimental and noise musicians, playing out their love of traditional American country music, embarking on a complete reconstruction of the genre, and stubbing our toes attempting to capture the nebulous sound of an America of the 21st century.
